                                   Code Of Ethics

Members shall at all times conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner.

Members should not guarantee or promise to cure any condition at any time. 
       Members shall ensure their advetisments remain within ASA guidelines.

Members should not offer their skills for entertainment or the amusement of others.

Members must at all times maintain a strict client therapist relationship and not enter into a sexual

relationship with a client at any time.

Members must at all times maintain a strict client confidentiality, within the confinements of

Statutory law.

Any client referred to a member by a medical practioner will remain within the care of the medical

practioner at all times. The member will keep the medical practioner fully aware of the work being

Done with the client and shall be guided by the medical practioner when necessary.

The member will at no time encourage a client to cease consulting with a medical practioner, or stop

taking any prescribed medication.

Members at no time will suggest that their therapy would be better for a client than another,

members may cross refer to other qualified therapists if they believe it to be beneficial for the client.

Members should not protract the length of treatment, or therapy, for financial gain.

Members main goal should always be to adequately help their client within the shortest  possible

time, always ensuring the client has been adequately treated.

Members should not criticise fellow members, if a serious breach of ethics arises, this should be

reported to the NLPPA for fair investigation.

If members are found guilty of a criminal offence they will be expelled from the association,

if charged with a criminal offence, their membership may be suspended, pending the outcome.

Members should ensure that they have adequate professional indemnity insurance to practice.

By becoming a member of the NLPPA you agree to abide by the above code of ethics and standards.
